The economic development of countries in East Africa and their progressive aligning with the economies of the more advanced countries depends largely on the development of commercial trade with foreign countries and also from investment by foreign countries.

Italian businessmen and companies have always been an important presence in the economic panorama of Kenya and the other E.A. countries. This presence has been varied in size, history and economic sectors and spans from the multinational company to the small family run business, but however represents an important basin of experience, capacity, creativity and initiative that can give a considerable contribution to the economic development of the region via the promotion and development of trade with Italy.
